About Me

Hello, I'm Cara, a justice-oriented educator and entrepreneur deeply committed to fostering equitable and meaningful learning experiences for both students and teachers. My journey in the realm of education began with a liberal arts degree in Elementary Education from Bethel University in 2006. Since then, my passion for learning and educational equity has driven me to continuously evolve and contribute to the field.

In June 2023, I proudly earned a Masters of Education in Educational Leadership from the innovative High Tech High Graduate School of Education. With over 17 years of hands-on experience spanning across Elementary and Middle schools in various corners of the globe, I've had the privilege of making a positive impact both within the United States and internationally.

My home now is the beautiful city of Bucaramanga, Colombia, where I reside with my husband and two boys. Beyond my role as an educator, I'm also a driven entrepreneur. Together with my husband Sergio, I co-founded Colombia Academy, a thriving martial arts and fitness institution that has become a cornerstone in our community. This unique blend of educational expertise and entrepreneurial spirit has equipped me with a diverse skill set: from harnessing data to drive meaningful change, to excelling as a coach, inspiring audiences through public speaking, and leading with unwavering transparency and organization.

Among my notable achievements, I've had the honor of coaching fellow educators and playing a leading role in achieving the first and only COGNIA STEM certification in South America. This experience stands as a testament to my unwavering commitment to fostering innovation and progress in the field of education.

Today, my focus as an educational consultant centers around collaborating with leaders to deliver tailored, equitable, and data-driven professional development initiatives.
